Positive Affirmations--Learning to Speak Life

Positive Affirmations are a simple yet powerful and effective way to change your life. This may seem like an incredible thing to say but if you give it a little thought and stay with me for a minute you’ll see what I mean.  What we grow up hearing and being taught becomes a huge part of our belief system. It defines our self truths and morals, values, judgments. It defines how we think and perceive. What we think defines how we talk, act and shapes our expectations. It shapes our behaviors.

 At the very least we can say what we think is what we believe.  What we believe is what we speak. What we speak is what we create (reality).  So if you find yourself unhappy with yourself, life, things around you, then, the most basic change to be made would start with your thinking and controlling what you speak.

So let’s just say you were unhappy with your weight. First you would need to figure out if you are speaking negativity into yourself or if you are speaking life. Most people don’t even realize it but they automatically speak negative.

 For example do you say:

“I love myself and I’m working to be as healthy as I can.”  You accept and love yourself as you are and work to take care of yourself.

OR

 “I hate my weight; I’m tired of being fat and out of shape!” You speak negativity into yourself and this lowers your self-esteem and makes it harder to make any positive change.

Do you say:

“I hate my job!” You hate you job, you know this already, so this statement doesn’t do anything to encourage you to find something better or leave room for change.

OR

“I am thankful for my new job.” This statement gives encouragement, speaks in the present tense which helps to make it more plausible and makes you want to work to accomplish it.

This type of positive speak can be applied to any and all areas of your life. Whether it is love, self change, finances, work, school, anything and everything in your life can be improved by using Positive Affirmations

Writing Your Own affirmations

My golden rule is this: If I can think it, I can speak it, I can achieve it!

Simply put Positive Affirmations help you manifest what you need and want in life.

Some of the things I do to help myself in manifesting what I need in life:

I write my Positive Affirmations down in a journal. This helps me to stay firm in what I am trying to accomplish.

I create a Faith Board. It can be a simple or as elaborate as I want it to be. I cut out pictures, I write statements, whatever I want to include, helping me focus on the things I am working toward.

I repeat my Affirmations to myself throughout the day. This is a great way to help get rid of self-defeating. Sometimes I even record them on my phone and listen to them as I am working on stuff around the house or out and about. Whenever I need a boost.

Examples of some Positive Affirmations:

Self-happiness:

I am peaceful.

I am healthy and whole.

I am happy and joyful.

Finances:

I am Prosperous.

I attract wealth.

I am affluent and live in overflow.

Attracting Success:

I am successful in all of my endeavors.

I am creative and full of positive energy.

I love and enjoy my job.

Love:

My heart is open to give and receive love.

My heart is open to embrace my soulmate.

I am loved and I am in love.

Make up your own Positive Affirmations. When you write them, make them personal statements and apply the present tense. Speak as if what you want is already available to you. When you repeat your Affirmations daily and throughout the day, try to meditate on what it is that you desire. See yourself in the new car, house, job, with children, married, on vacation, healed…whatever it is you need and desire.

Speak Positive Affirmations…Speak LIFE!
